I’m going through a little bit of what I like to call a “midlife renaissance”. It started during the COVID yearsTM when my husband was complaining (justifiably, sorry, sorry) about me being on twitter too much and I got sick of politics. I passive aggressively decided to read some books and cut back on twitter, but not give it up because I still love it and people who don’t are barbarians (just kidding.)
I now find myself at a moment in my life when all of my kids mostly sleep at night and it is surprising how one can actually decide to do things and then do them when they are sleeping more than 4 hours a night. This has led to me reading some excellent books, dabbling with this blog and even taking a couple of online classes on Coursera. All that to say, that sometimes, if you respond poorly to spousal grousing about your social media usage, sometimes, by the mercy of God, something good comes out of it anyway.
The main class I am taking right now is a poetry class, which accounts for most of the new poems I have put up recently. I welcome feedback as this is really experimental and I would like to become a better poet and writer in general. Goals for February are to write a couple of book reviews, keep at it with the poetry and chip away at a couple of creative writing projects I have going without neglecting my children. In other words pray for me, ha.
So anyway, reading is great, blogging is fun, glad I tried it. Midlife renaissance 5 out of 5 stars would recommend.
Hope your day is great!
